SOLVED: MiniPac P1 Start / Shifted Functionality
« on: December 27, 2014, 01:43:28 pm »
UPDATE: To clarify, it seems like the problem is... the button only registers 1 press at a time and if I hold the button down, it doesn't trigger the keypress until I release the button...

Hi Guys,

I've got 2 MiniPacs and I'm experiencing the same issue on both -- which leads me to believe it might be by design.

On both MiniPacs, J3 - YELLOW/P1 Start is sluggish compared to all other buttons.

It seems to only register 1/2 of the button presses.

I believe J3 - YELLOW/P1 Start is also the SHIFT function, so I'm curious if I have an issue or if this is by design.

Thanks so much!

Like you mentioned, P1 Start is the default shift button.

All the other buttons send a keystroke as soon as you press them, but the shift button doesn't send a keystroke until you either release the button. (sends a "1" keystroke for Player 1 Start) or press a button with an assigned shifted function (sends the shifted function keystroke)

How fast are you trying to repeatedly press P1 Start? (a fast double-click doesn't register on mine, but a slightly slower one does)

That makes perfect sense! Thanks so much for the quick response and the confirmation that this is normal.

After months building, there's really nothing quite so satisfying as hooking it all up and seeing everything interface so smooth with the computer via the MiniPac
