Rowe Ami R88 plays all A sides but only the first 27 B sides
« on: December 18, 2014, 03:22:45 pm »
I am a newbie to jukeboxes but have just bought a Rowe Ami R88. Once I had loaded my records I noticed it will not play B sides from 228 onwards, it plays 227 fine. This to me seems as though it can count up 127 which in binary is 1111111 but fails to count 128 which is 10000000. if 228 selected it picks and plays 100 ( first record ) 229 plays 101 etc. Anyone come across this problem before. Cheers Keith

Here is an update to my problem of my Rowe Ami only playing the first 27 B sides. Today I was going to take out the main pcb to check it for dry joints but before I did I had it running on continuous play whilst I was having my breakfast I also switched it to STD play instead of AS SELECTED, well you can imagine my surprise when number 271 came up and indeed it played the record at that selection. Well I have since changed it back to AS SELECTED and knocked continuous play off and it is still playing selected records passed 227, shall keep you updated if I find anything else out. Regards Keith

Hi Keith,

It would seem that you still have issues on this jukebox.

If you wish to send in the following boards for testing/repair:-

CCC, Mechanism Control Unit, Pricing Board

Alan

Another update on this fault, I changed the battery which had leaked onto the pcb, also one of the resistors R162 10k was corroded so I changed this also. Cleaned all the board up and also cleaned the switches and jukebox now plays all B sides as soon as powered on, I no longer have to mess about with the switches, hopefully job done. Thanks for all your comments and help. Regards Keith

Hi Keith,

What with the new name, have you had a problem loggin into the forum?

It looks as if you might end up sending me your boards for testing/repair.

Hi Keith,

I have reported that post to a moderator, looking at it now it has high lighted links and is obviously a spammer.
