Fully loaded with games, movies and MP3s.
I'm in Toms River, NJ 08753
For info on the controller, you can visit
www.slikstik.comIt's a unit with the Happ USB/PS2 trackball, Tornado spinner, dual 8-way sticks and single 4 way stick. Also has pinball buttons on the side.
Specs for the PC are Athlon 1ghz, 512mb RAM, Sonic EQ, CD burner, DVD reader. Signal is sent to the 27" TV thru s-video output on the ATI All in Wonder Radeon card. The MAME games look fantastic and Windows XP looks very good. Text is fairly clear and readable in Windows. I can go online (has a modem and network card in the PC) and connect to my home network thru the PC. All PC games are playable with the Slikstik controller...trackball acts as the mouse and any game that accepts keyboard controls can be used.
Wireless RF keyboard that is included. It's an iFree keyboard with a thumb trackball. Since it's RF, the receiver is inside the cabinet and there are no wires for a keyboard or mouse outside the cabinet. So you can fully navigate Windows using the keyboard and actually stand back from the cabinet while doing so.
Since there is a TV in the cabinet, you can connect your cable line to it and watch TV when not playing games. Works great for me since I don't need a seperate TV in my computer room. I just turn on the TV in the arcade cab. DVD movies obviously look great and are played using the HP DVD player in the PC. Also, any home game system (Dreamcast, XBox, PS2, etc.) can be easily connected to the TV. So this cabinet is very versitile and flexible.
The ATI Radeon card also has TV capturing software so you can use the PC like a TIVO and record TV shows. There is also an ATI "breakout box" that gives you s-video and RCA inputs so you can connect digital cameras and camcorders to do home video editing.
There is also a storage shelf inside the cabinet above the PC. I use it for my cable box, keyboard receiver and storage. But there's plently of room for an audio receiver, VCR, etc. The inside of the cabinet is lit by a florescent light and there's plenty of more room in there for a subwoofer and more storage. Two surge protectors are used inside. One is used for components that always need power, even when turned off. Like the TV so it doesn't lose settings. I also keep the Dreamcast cable box and other non-mame or PC related devices plugged into it. That way I don't have to power up the PC and cabinet for everything.
The EQ in the PC also includes a remote, so all volume can be controlled thru that. But I usually use the volume controls on the wireless keyboard instead. I was using the EQ only for the Dreamcast really. That custom sound system is actually a car amp and Sony X-Plode speakers that are powered by a 300w PC power supply. All the sound went thru the EQ so I could control the volume. Otherwise I had no way of controlling the DC volume and it was LOUD.
Last night I actually took out that sound system marquee and replaced it with the mirrored Virtua Figher mirror. I had borrowed the PC power supply for another project and had been using a PC subwoofer and 4 satellies mounted inside for sound. I really like the futuristic look of the sound marquee, but occasionally I would get slight hiss when listening to music loud. I've been meaning to rewire it because I hear no hiss on another marquee I built for someone. So what I'm saying is that the sound from a PC subwoofer and speakers will probably sound better than the car speakers at higher volumes. Of course the ultimate would be using a stereo receiver and surround sound speakers.
Asking price is $2500
