Name that game...
« on: December 17, 2003, 12:53:17 pm »
I'm looking for the name of a game for a friend of mine.  His description:

"It was a game where  you collected parts to your ship while shooting things.

Yeah probably Slapfight (known as Alcon in the U.S.).

probably not..

alcon has two buttons (one to select powerup) and you don't turn into a pheonix...

But its a great game anyway and everyone should play it.

(quick note... don't touch your joystick / buttons after starting.  when the first guy kills you you come back with full power and homing missiles.... Fun if you cant get that far without suicide.

It sounds like Terra Cresta: http://www.klov.com/game_detail.php?letter=&game_id=10077

Except that Terra Cresta has two buttons.

Wasn't there an arcade game with Phoenix in the name?  I kind of remember playing a game that sounds like his description..

Now with cup beer holders!

yes, there was a game called Phoenix and a sequal called Son of Phoenix.  But they do not fit this description.

ErikRuud got it - it was Terra Cresta!  Thanks for the help.  He went through the whole list of MAME games and still didn't spot it - must have glossed over it too quickly.

Thanks!

Been there.  I just finally found "Shocking" again, after forgetting the name and looking for it for two months.   I have too many games.
