MaLa GUI - Background not showing

I created a little logo in PS6.  I then opened up MaLa for the first time and tried to play with the layout creator.

What I am running into, is that when I make the PNG, designed at 800x600 @72dpi, he image for the background, it stays a solid color.  I cant for the life of me, get the image to display.

I even made a custom field hold the image without success.  I have pushed and pulled it front/back.  Any suggestions?

Make sure it's saved as a 24-bit PNG.

The image editing software I use defaults to something else.
It gets me every time.

The only option I have within PS6 is as a PNG...nothing about 24-bit or the other.  I will definitely look into it.  Thank you sir!

I'm sure there is a way to change it in PS6, but if not.......
I use paint.net http://www.getpaint.net/

When you go to "save as", it is one of the options.
(does not give you the option if just clicking save)

Might work the same way on ps6?

Used paint.net and selected 24 bit PNG.  Still not showing up as a background.

Probably a path issue then.

Is it showing up in Mala Layout editor, but not Mala?

Thats correct.  All versions of the PNG show up in the layout editor.  I am saving each change to the layout, etc.

I will work my way through the FAQ next.

ETA:  Any font and window Move/Add/Change are savign and displaying in MaLa.

I'm new to the forum and I'm sure you figured out the problem by now, but I started with MALA today and came across the same issue.  I figured that I would share the solution I found.  The images you want to show up on your layout must be included in a folder with the same name. For example, if your .mll file is test1.mll, you must have a corresponding folder with the name test1 and have the images you want to use in that folder.  This is the solution I came up with, hope it helps.
