Retro fit a Golden Tee Live (2013) game to Golden Tee 2005?
« on: November 25, 2014, 12:29:57 am »
Hey all, I'm struggling with the connections to retrofit a 2013 Live cabinet, equipped with the front panel (trackball, buttons, harnesses, and coin wiring), to a GT 2005 Fore PCB.  I've got the video conversion covered so I can output to a LCD monitor, but after reading all the forums I'm struggling with how to get all the controls working from the 2013 Live cabinet.  Any help?  Thanks!

It looks like Live uses an IO board while the Fore series uses a JAMMA harness plus a trackball connector for the controls. Here is a link for the Fore manual. Do you have a green board or a red board? They use different power supplies, so be careful when you buy one. I was just at Incredible Technologies today to pick up a part. What are you going to do with the old Live?

It's the red board.  I ordered the new power supply from IT today just to make sure I had the right power/voltage.  I didn't want to take a chance getting that wrong.  I also called their tech support about compatibility and he said I would be best off just starting over on the controls since the jamma outputs won't be close to what is currently in the cabinet.  So I guess that's what I'll do!

I do not have the old Live PC that was in the original cabinet.  I received the cabinet completely stripped.  Sorry!
