DIY powerful solenoid for gun recoil?
« on: November 12, 2014, 07:34:57 pm »
HI guys,

I'm tempted to buy the Ultimark guns from Andy but I've read that the recoil just isn't that powerful. There are some good cheap guns on ebay called "Clacker Gun" which I was thinking of gutting for Andy's internal components, minus the solenoid.

Has anyone found a solenoid with some good OOMPH? Something generic?

Thanks!

Tyler

Andy's solenoid is fine and is about as big as will fit in the shell.  just don't hook it up to a crap wall wart laptop or printer power supply.  you need a big 36V power supply like

If you want to get really cheeky you can remove a couple of wraps of wire off the solenoid.
