Arcade button... spacer? shim? washer?
« on: October 31, 2014, 08:02:24 am »
I'm sure the kind of thing I'm looking for exists, but I'll be damned if I can find the right search term to find it.

Basically, I need some plastic or metal "washers" that can be used to shim out an arcade button. I have four Ultralux buttons I need to mount in holes that are only 25mm (the thread size) not 28mm (the "flange" size). They fit, but they don't sit flush. (Basically my cab was cut for NovaGEM "credit" buttons which are surface mount, but they look awful where I had them on the CP because they're surface mount, and I want to put the Ultralux buttons in their place because they're less substantial...)

At some point I'm going to 3D print a spacer for them, but temporarily I'm trying to find something reasonably inexpensive to use. Even a plastic washer with a 30mm ID or something would work.

The only thing I've found have been 30mm ID, 47mm OD bearing washers that are $15 each (!!!!).

Can you take a pic of what you mean?

I think I have what you need, but a pic would help clear things up.

Cut out your own from an empty bottle of laundry detergent.

You're trying to fit buttons into holes that are too big? Or too small?
