Is it possible to use 3 Opti-Wiz's with 3 Super Offroad wheels?

Hello this is my first time posting on the forum. So hopefully I am posting in the correct location.
I have a Ivan 'Ironman' Stewart's Super Off Road with a broken board. Since all of the wheels and controls still work I want to just use a raspberry pi to get it running again. I ordered an opti-wiz to play with. While I am waiting for it to arrive I have been playing with the game on the Pi using the controls mapped to a mouse since the opti-wiz emulates a mouse and it works fine. When I add a second mouse to the Pi both the mice control player one. When I hit tab and go into the mame configuration it cannot tell the difference between the two mice. So my question is if the opti-wiz works for the wheel and I get two more of them  will I be able to map them separately in mame or will they all appear as one device?

Welcome aboard, Tbone786.   

The first thing to do is enable multimouse (change it from a 0 to a 1) in your mame.ini file.

If you can't find mame.ini, generate it by typing "mame.exe -cc" from the command prompt.

You won't need 3 OptiWiz's.

You can put one player on the X-axis and the second on the Y-axis of the first OptiWiz.

Then put the third player on the X-axis of the second OptiWiz.

BTW, when you order the second OptiWiz, be sure to select a different "USB Device Number" on the order page.

IDK if the RasPi will have the processing grunt to handle this game, but good luck.

Thanks for the reply. I received the Opti-wiz and I am able to get one of the wheels to work. The problem I am having is the mame4all-pi does not have a mame.ini file that I can find. So when I put the second wheel on the second opti-wiz on the x-axis both wheels control the same car. If I hook up with second to the y-axis on the opti-wiz I cannot figure out how to configure mame to use that axis. When I hit tab and try and configure the wheel for any of the players it doesn’t recognize that I am spinning the wheel. However the x-axis works fine, but I am not sure how to configure the y-axis in the mame config for player 2. Any help is greatly appreciated.

MAME4ALL is based on a very, very old version of MAME.
I don't know if the official MAME supported multiple mice back then.
It would be a good question for the author of this Pi version.

Personally, I'd start looking for free PCs on craigslist or ask relatives if they have any gathering dust.

That said, I see no reason why both the Y and X axis of one device shouldn't work.  (you might even be able to use the Z axis depending on how this version of MAME functioned)

Have you tried swapping things around to make sure the optical boards of all the wheels work? 
(hook the Y axis up to the wheel that was working with the x axis and such?
