Non-working Space Invaders cab. Worth $100?
« on: October 23, 2014, 02:50:18 pm »
http://buffalo.craigslist.org/vgm/4721829045.html

Worth it or should I offer less?
Just trying to get a handle on things.
Most people on Craigslist are asking $500 $900 for original classics that barely turn on, beat up & have screens that look like hell.

I think it's a really cool looking cab though.

WOULD NOT BUTCHER IT if still available. :)

That's what I thought.

Just waiting for the guy to get back to me to see if it's still available.
It was posted 4 days ago so who knows.

It's all about the execution. I can have all the non working stuff back in it within 20 minutes.  :applaud:

good day.

Firstly, LET'S GO BILLS!

I am from Rochester, and went to Buffalo State.

Thirdly, I'd go get it. You could do a restore or MAME it out. I like the shape of it, too.
I'm with stupid.

I'm just going to put one of these on it.
i've had it in my basement since the early 90's and hate to see it go unused.

will only need to modify the CP a tiny bit.

My intentions with a cabinet like this would be to try & get it working and if not stick an old motherboard that boots directly into mame space invaders (so I can use it) until I could get it working properly.

I may be a newb but the last time I saw one of these is person was at the Strong Museum.
It was under glass & honestly was in worse shape than this guy.

Hey AzureKnight - i'm divorced so I guess i'm "lucky" that way. LOL!
I can put this in my dining room if I wanted.
I'd have to move the weight bench out of there first though. :)

Most people on craigslist are fuking retarted. Example: For every 3 golden tee cabs in my area that the owner wants 600$, I see one that is mint go for 250$. One hundred dollars for a cab in fair condition almost working is a good deal. I wouldn't pay much more for a non-working cab. It's the same as cars. Most are worth scrap price if not working because you never know what you are going to get.

Then how would you dry your shirts or store your empty beer cans?

'Nope', you decided against it?

'Nope', it was already sold?

'Nope', the seller never responded?

'Nope', not yet, but you made arrangements to pick it up soon?

Huh, where did the rest of my post go?
Stupid tablet.
Anyway, someone is supposed to pick it up Tuesday.
If that falls through he said I'm next in line.

If I'm not mistaken, a KLOVer picked this up with the intent of fixing the game and giving it to a buddy whose wife recently died, so it's going to a good cause and, more importantly, protected from being MAMEed.

Yeah, that sounds like a win for the game itself.
