25 cent button from groovygamer wiring question
« on: October 21, 2014, 03:42:47 pm »
*** figured it out the solid black is ground and the green/black is 5v. both need to be plugged in.

I got the groovygamer 25 illuminated push buttons and looking at the instructions it talks about a red wire going to 5v on the molex and the black going to LED-WIZ which i don't have. http://groovygamegear.com/webstore/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=295 However my buttons came with a solid black wire and a green/black striped wire not a red one. I'm assuming the green/black goes to the the 5v on the molex and the solid black on the button isn't used ?

Also for testing purposes does the ground on the button have to be connected for it to illuminate?

thanks for the help.

I just did these. I can check when I get home later. I am using a 12v adapter, though. If I remember correctly, I cut the tip off the adapter cord and I linked the green with the striped wire on the adapter, and the solid black with the solid black and it worked.
I'm with stupid.
