60hz Setup
« on: October 20, 2014, 03:28:25 pm »
I use groovymame properly in a couple of my cabs and it is excellent. However in another cab I have the wrong hardware for groovymame, so I still use both standard mame and cabmame 0.141 with sound sync for games that have sound issue's. I thought sound sync was broken sometime after 0.141 and cabmame hasn't been updated in some time. Are there any advantages in using groovymame for setups just running at 60hz?

hi Andy u do get the added advantage of reduced lag when using groovymame
by the way if u didnt know, mameuifx also uses the soundsync patch if u wanted to use that instead of cabmame (which as you already found out, is out of date now).
ps. when using mameuifx soundsync it works best under a certain configuration (ie. u need to use direct3d not directdraw for one thing, otherwise it doesnt work right). i can dig out the details if it's something u are interested in anyway.
