Paradise Arcades processing time?
« on: October 09, 2014, 09:12:05 am »
Hey all ordered a few buttons from paradise arcade on Sunday, still nothing shipped the status is just "Payment Accepted"  Anyone know the normal turn around time for orders?  Everything said in stock and the total was like 13 bucks so nothing high dollar.

I completed an order aug 4th and didn't see it here in canada til late sept. they didnt notify me of parts out of stock til i chased them down by phone. I had emailed a few days earlier so they knew about my order but hadn't replied yet.

Bottom line Susan did respond to my queries, and was very friendly, but a heads up would have been nice. Mine was a big order so i can't say for sure that everything indicated instock at the time. My advice is to call (during Hawaii business hours or just after) and put a smile in your voice when inquiring!

Their product was good and they did respond to all emails/calls so I'll order from them next time too! please let me know how it goes with your order!

In any situation like this, its best to reach out to the vendor.
If you're replying to a troll you are part of the problem.
I also need to follow this advice. Ignore or report, don't reply.

I've ordered from them once, and it took about 3-4 days until it shipped, from what I recall.  They are a small operation, so I'd probably allow about a week before starting to worry.

Fickle customers.  :timebomb:
They're a small business, and it's only been 4 business days. Chill out and wait for your $13 order. jeez.

I am not fickle, there are numerous small businesses that can get stuff out the door faster.  I was simply inquiring about past experiences, no need to be a dick about it.  Keeping customers up to date on the status is not too much to ask for.  If I were worried I have a multitude of avenues I can take ;)

This is true, but the first thing I would think, considering the business is in Hawaii, is that they have a different - more relaxed - way of doing things. Perhaps this contributes to the delay in some way.

Keeping customers up to date on the status is not too much to ask for.

Some companies aren't as quick on the draw to provide updates. Sometimes, it just happens. Why didn't you order from a place more local to you? Were your parts something special only they carried? Just asking.

Last order took them over a month to actually ship it.  When I mentioned it on the forum, I was told by the owner via private message that I am "truly classless."  Be that as it may, it's clear my future business is undesired.

Hmm.

I'm not going to go either way on this one, but may I ask if you contacted them prior to the forum post to see what the delay was? Actually, yeah - I am going to take a side. I would never directly insult a customer in such a way, even if there was an issue between us.

Of course I did.  His wife gave me two fictitious shipment dates.

Anyway, everyone here has already heard everything I've got to say about them.  Buyer beware.

retrogamedude , sorry about the order, and thank you for ordering, Susan got swamped because of the protests in Hong Kong a ton of stuff has been arriving at very weird times.  Shoot me a pm with your order number and I'll double check on it.

darthcommanderman , thanks for the business

shponglefan , no need to worry we will deliver :)

PBJ , Yes the custom dustwashers that were ordered for the incorrect stick by yourself took a long time to replace since you didn't actually tell us who you were and we had several orders to deal with.  Since we ended up replacing someone else's dustwashers instead of yours because you were not communicating directly , just posting at first, and we just had your forum ID, not your name.  I also seem to remember us replacing your mistake at our expense.  Call it what you will, but I say producing new custom dustwashers you requested and then replacing your mistake for free is worth at least direct communication.  Yes we made a mistake that cost some time, but the sad part is my biggest regret was trying to be nice by doing something custom you requested.  Trying to be nice cost me a lot of time and caused too much headache, not to mention it cost me money in the end.  You have been quick to jump on any band wagon against us, and even while you take every opportunity to do so, I still produced something you suggested for a very low cost.

Yeah, not quite how all that went down but I do have to chuckle at the absurdity of bickering over turtle shell dust washers.

I've ordered from them and I wouldn't hesitate to order from them again.

1. They were the only ones that carried the stuff I was looking for and the prices were very good.
2. I called to change my order after I placed it online and Susan was VERY friendly and took care of everything hasslefree.
3. When everything arrived, the bat tops I ordered didn't fit on the joysticks and I was certain I'd have to pay return shipping and it would be a huge hassle. When I called Susan I was already in defensive mode and ready to argue my case. I explained I ordered joysticks and bat tops that didn't fit and she immediately apologized, looked at my order and apologized again. She sent me out the replacements right away free of charge and included a prepaid shipping label to return the incorrect ones.  At no point did we discuss whose fault it was.  Maybe they sent the wrong ones.  Maybe I ordered the wrong ones.  It made no difference and I got the replacements within a couple days.

If you have a question or problem with an order, call them and they will make it right.  Since that first order, I've ordered from them again and have given their info to others who ordered from them.  Zero problems.

I've had stuff come in 5 days. I've had stuff not ship for 5 days. Either way, I always got my stuff.  :dunno

Brian has done custom stuff for me as well as answered my questions. I wouldn't hesitate to order from him, nor would I hesitate to order from Ultimarc, Groovy Game Gear, Twisted Quarter, etc, and they've all had at least one or two "complaint" threads. Stuff happens from time to time, but they've all proven themselves to be trustworthy (if not human as well).
