So I've been working for a couple of months now on an addition to my standing upright 2 player cabinet (
http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=138229.0) which would allow me to use it as a sit-down racing cab. After a lot of trade-offs that have come up (which I have found solutions to so far - e.g. the seat will need to be like 2.5-3 ft off the ground - this feels fine when you're riding but looks awk as hell when you look at it from the side), I am thinking it might be time to accept my sunken costs and build a sitdown cab (that could potentially share the A/V input from the regular upright - as i want to play many of the same games on both, but not re-wire all of the 360/pc cabling I did earlier).
The thought is that this sit-down cab can sit next to the standing cab and just have a couple of controller wires (DB9 probably), RCA, and an HDMI cord leading to it. I can leave space to make it a stand-alone cab if I want to later.
That's going to be a long term project. In the meanwhile, I was thinking I could create some sort of box structure to slide over my control panel area / front of cab to turn it into an upright racing cab. However, the pedals feel SO awkward. I have clubsport pedals (v2). I have tried leaving them flat on the ground, orienting them as if they were upright, different angles, etc. Anyone have advice on how to make those pedals feel comfortable? I can't see myself playing anything for more than 5 minutes like this.
