Interface for Analog gas pedal
« on: March 30, 2015, 10:51:34 pm »
I have a 1kΩ analog pedal from a Spy Hunter cabinet that I'm looking to interface to sdlmame running on arch linux.  I read about u-hid, a-pac, aki, and some other options.   Much of the recent chatter seems to be about u-hid - is it a current solid solution or is a-pac still the one?  I gather I may need to change the pot, that's not a problem.

Thanks,
Steve

Is the AKI from B-Spec Labs still sold anwhere? (if it's still available, I'll add it to the wiki.)

An Analog Encoder like U-HID, U-HID Nano, or KADESTICK should work fine with any potentiometer -- the U-HID software has several adjustments that the KADESTICK currently doesn't.

You don't need to replace the pot unless it causes jumpy/jittery output.
