Is there a standard distance betwen buttons in a CP ???
« on: December 12, 2003, 03:11:43 pm »
Hi everyone,

Is there a standard distance betwen buttons in a CP ???

I'm planning on using 6 buttons in a 3 wide x 2 tall configuration.

At 1.5" between holes, this leaves about 3/16" space between buttons.

If I went to 1.75, this would then leave 7/16" space between buttons.

Is there a standard?

What was used on cabs that had this layout (like streetfighter?)

Thanks,

Alan

See:

http://www.fraggersxtreme.com/arcadepanels/faq.htm#What is the minimum button spacing that I can use?

I plan to use 1.5 between the button centers and 3 inches between the joystick center and the center of the first button, which is what talking octopus has on his template.

Someone should sticky this also, gets asked a lot.

Actually, if you do the math, SNAAAKE's dimensions are less than a tenth of an inch different from mine and Octupus's (Octopi's ??).

Does anyone have a good Neo template?  That's the one with the curved buttons, right?

I'm looking for a good template to blow up to test out on a CP.  Here is one image I tracked down from another thread, but it wasn't a final...

I sure wish i knew the values for A through D however.  It's a nice design, but doesn't have all the answers, does it?  Am I looking at that pic wrong?
