the original battery has tabs welded to the battery and is not removable unless you desolder it from the board.
what i do is replace it with a 2032 battery holder like this:
https://solarbotics.com/product/BHold2032/it has tabs that stick out the bottom that match the original battery almost exact. you may need to file down the tabs to obtain a good fit.
i have dozens of dead motherboards from buckhunters and mega touches and whatnot. i usually just steal a battery holder off the board and use them for the CCC.
be sure to observe proper polarity (top of the 2032 battery with all the writing is positive.) be sure the tab that touches this part of the battery is soldered to the + side of the original battery.
it's not real hard if you are experienced in soldering. if not, it can be a little daunting. If you know someone who can do better than you, maybe get them to do it for you, or perhaps if you're a real novice and no nothing of soldering, see if you can find a local electronics repair shop or electronic parts store to trade you some coffee and doughnuts or a 6 pack of beer for doing it for you. if you think you will mess it up, it's best to leave it to someone with some skill. working CCC's are getting harder and harder to find without getting hosed 200 bucks to buy one used.
lord knows i've done electronics work for people for liquor.
