front end popups
« on: September 19, 2014, 11:38:33 am »
How would I go about making sure nothing pops up while in my front end(maximus)
Would shelling Windows do it?
Maybe disable explorer.exe?
Note that I am not connected to WiFi and have nothing else in the startup folder but sometimes a program will just pop up. Like an hp suggestion thing
Or something like that. This project will not have a readily available keyboard or mouse.

Is there a reason you can't uninstall whatever is popping up?

I just did. Its gone now. The hard part was figuring out what it was that was causing the popup

1.) http://www.sevenforums.com/software/89960-hp-pre-installed-programs.html has a listing a what is safe to remove and what is safer to disable for HP programs
2.) Download decrapifier, its not just for Dells anymore.
3.) In case of zombies, break glass:  Reinstall  win 7/8 from oem disk or from MS iso.  Helps avoid the COMPAQ/DELL/EMACHINE/GATEWAY/HP crap
