Where to get trackball bearings?
« on: December 12, 2003, 08:44:19 am »
Does anyone know where to get trackball bearings?--Just the bearings (15mm O.D. x 5mm wide) (9/16" x 3/16" for the yanks ;))

I checked Happs but they want 4.00 + shipping per bearing and I only want one--looking for an alternate source thats not so pricey and maybe has a store I could go to.

thanks

Not sure what the size is on the ones Betson sells, but they run about $2.69 a piece.

Don't you have a local bearing supply company you could go to? Here in Olympia, Washington we have Applied Industrial Technologies (formerly known as Bearings, Inc.). They have an excellent stock of bearings at very reasonable prices and the people working there know what I'm talking about. Look in your phone book under "Bearings".

Ken's right on the money. Check your phone book and you'll almost certainly find a place that sells nothing but bearings.

Actually I got lucky, i was cleaning my parts cabinet and in the bearing drawer there was a whole mess of bearings I pulled from a set of roller blades and one small one--surprisingly it fit--problem solved!
