Question about Marvel vs. Capcom 2 controls...

Quick question...  I have a friend that really wants to run MvsC2 for his new cabinet...  I've got it up and running in Makaron but as with every piece of info I can find on it, the controls are light P/K, Heavy P/K, and Assist 1/2, but he SWEARS the arcade on was the standard Street Fighter II 6 button config of Light/Medium/Heavy...  So was there a version that had L/M/H or is L/H/A correct?

Marvel vs capcom 1 was 6 button, but 2 is only 4 button.

Yeah, I kept asking "Are you SURE you aren't talking about the first one??" and he swore up and down it was MvC2 even though I was pretty sure it wasn't 6 button...  So maybe I can convince him NOW (doubt it seeing as how I showed him FAQs and the listing of the cabinet on KLOV)...
