Cheap arcade monitors

I found this wesite that sells you an arcade monitor chassis and explains how you can use a TV's CRT tube to complete the monitor.

Does this look like it could work?
Has anyone tried it?
Are there other alternatives for getting cheap arcade monitors (besides eBay)?

Happ controls also sells a cheapish replacement chassis for their 19" monitor that may also work with other tubes.

Oscar was talking about a company selling a 19" that worked great for about a 100bucks (maybe 150 shipped).  I thought it was an AMAZING deal (and if it was the one in his pacman cab it looked great too!)

100$ for a full working monitor or for a chassis? cause i know the chassis from 8liner are like 100$

www.arcadeshop.com is selling a 19" for $189.  I haven't bought one yet.

OTOH, a refurb VGA-capable U3100 19" from Wells Gardner is less than $200.

Nothing seems to beat getting a 25" chassis from 8liners and adding your own CRT tube.  But damn my cheap ass, I could get zapped in the process.  ;D

Isn't $100 awfully expensive for just a 15kHz chassis without a tube? I can get a nice Sony 25" TV with SCART (RGB) inputs for the same price in a local shop.

Since a 15kHz doesn't offer anything over a SCART, I would be more interested in a chassis that does 15/25/31kHz... Do those exist?

$100 is a good price for a new chassis.  You can usually get a tube for free from a TV repair shop.

My only problem is getting monitor brackets.  They come with most arcade monitors, but if you're going to go the chassis/used tube route, I don't know where to get a bracket.
