Stuck on Artwork / Design
« on: September 01, 2014, 08:46:58 pm »
I've made a lot of progress on the project over the last week (er... at least on paper), but I feel like I can't really proceed beyond this point until I have the artwork for the cabinet figured out.  I can't wire up the CP until I order by buttons / joystick, and I can't do that until I figure out which colors to get, which I can't figure out until I know what's gonna look good  :afro:!

I downloaded a trial version of Photoshop about a week ago but haven't had much success putting my imagination to the screen, so I thought I'd appeal to the collective for help.  I'm willing to pay to get some help, though I'm not sure what the going rate is or who to talk to about this (thought about posing on one of the freelance websites).  I posted in the artwork forum a day or two ago and didn't get any responses (though it was in one of the freelancer's threads, so maybe it didn't get enough views?).  Anyone hired someone else to help them with this before?  What kind of prices are we talking about for Marquee / CP / small side art (about the Neon Mame circle sized)?  I guess they'd send you a file and you find an online vinyl printer to order the actual print from?

I'm looking for a general D&D type theme... i found the below pictures which I think fit what I have in mind, just now sure how to integrate / tweak / adjust them to put it all together.  Not married to any of these pictures specifically, it's just what I was able to find that looked cool.  Could also use advice on the joystick / button / t-molding colors.... I'm really not all that artistic.

Heres a few ideas you could build on,going by the pictures, that first dragon pic would be an awesome control panel overlay the way it is.for side art  put bones on one side and deathwing on the other.use the fourh pic with the dragons as a marquee, crop a bit off the bottom and ad a mame logo or something.Orange T moulding, orange joystick balltops.use your imagination for the button colors.
