Useful product for swappable panels

I was thinking about the swappable panels thing and would like to do this. However I'm not keen on doing soldering (I'll just screw it up big style!). What I wanted was a method of disconnecting from the ipac simply and easily.

In my search for molex connectors I came across this nice little thing.

I reckon that a couple of these babies will do the trick nicely and remove the need for soldering. Anyone have any views.

I realise this is a UK site but I'm sure this stuff is available worldwide.

Save yourself some crimping.  Buy a 6' cable and cut it in half. Make sure it has the needed amount of wires inside.

That's exactly what I did... no crimping, and all your wires are color coded to boot.

I am interested in the same thing. What wire do you have?

Question... Is it better to have one IPAC and have the wires connect/Disconnect between the IPAC and the CP or to have multiple IPAC's

I have 1 ipac.  That's all you need.

get a parallel cable. There are 24 or 25 wires in it. Go to a garage sale or a computer shop - get one for $1.

Make sure its a Parallel or serial extension cable. It has 25 color coded wires. Different brands use different colors per pin so try to make them the same brand because that makes it much easier.
