Rowe Berkeley WP100A Neon
« on: August 27, 2014, 05:16:16 pm »
Recently purchased Rowe Berkeley and neon wont light.  Power to neon power supply 12v but drops to 5v when connected to power supply.  Neons flicker for brief second when initially powered (brief 12v then drops to 5v).  Awaiting manuals to troubleshoot further.  Any insight would be appreciated.

Check the solder side of the neon power supply board for bad solder joints at the connectors and at any diodes found on the board.

These boxes had a modification done to them early on. Look inside the door at the left bottom on the door itself. There was a Neon Power Supply added to these jukeboxes. If you look on the top of that little box there is a small screw. I think you turn it clockwise for more power. Just turn it one way or the other and see if the lights get brighter.

Thanks for the screw info on power supply, didn't work but in all my reading had never heard or seen that screw. Bought 2 power supply of ebay and have to see if that does the trick.

Reflowed solder and replaced bridge rectifier that you had suggested on an older juke post. No go. Attach cpu power supply and run 12v to neon power supply and it works. Don't have wiring diagram so am at a stand still now.
