My first machine
« on: August 12, 2014, 11:38:15 pm »
I know that you're supposed to announce builds before you actually start them on here, but I digress. I started this machine about a year ago and am now about 90% complete. I've thrown lots of cash and time into this machine and now I want to build another for some reason. Damn, this arcade building thing is addicting  :-\. Well, anyways, here are the specs.

24" 1080P LCD
All-LED buttons and joysticks (except for NovaGem CDRs on bottom. Still working on that.)
19k or so games
semi-functioning FEs (Gameex and Hyperspin are on there)
16x2 LCD for notifications and other bits of data
Phenom II x4-based PC w/ 8GB of RAM and W7
Slideout rack with keyboard, mouse, and volume controller
Room for future mini-fridge

Why is your control panel so wide when you have your controls centered there in the middle? Honest question.

I was thinking about making it a 4 player at first, but then I ran into some difficulties, so I just kept putting it off and just never did it. I also considered adding trackballs in the space.

Yea. I completely screwed up on the first monitor and the only replacement I had that would fit and wasn't too ugly was that LCD. Well, whatever. I also built it for PC gaming. Certain steam games look like they would work well with arcade controls, so I might as well give it a try... In full HD!!

Go to Wal-Mart and get a $2 posterboard to make a surround for that monitor. It'll look way better.  ;D

Good idea. I'll probably do that next time I have a few hours of down time
