LEDblinky dynamic lighting?
« on: August 08, 2014, 02:10:24 am »
First of all, apologies to those seeing this question for a second time... I posted it in my Skeeball build thread but I felt it was a specific and obscure enough question to warrant it's own thread (mods feel free to move/delete if I'm mistaken.)

For those unfamiliar, I built a Skeeball machine that has RGB lighting in each ring running custom software.  Right now I'm controlling the lighting via Randy's LedWiz87 software via the clipboard, which definitely works but after buying a license and playing around with LEDblinky I would love to be able to use the advanced animations with my machine.

Not sure how to word this, but does anyone know if LEDblinky allows for incremental control of LEDs like the LEDwiz software does?  By this I mean is there a way to send one command to light the 10 ring, then send another command to light the 20 ring and have the 10 ring remain lit?  So far every time I send a command via LEDblinky it seems to just wipe all the LEDs states before it makes the new changes.  Making LWAX files for every possible lighting combination just isn't practical given that some games use an array of colors per hole, and the number of possible color combinations between 7 holes would get out of control very quickly.

The only thing I've found regarding this is in the animation editor documentation regarding single frame animations, but it appears that you can only do what I'm wanting in a very limited manner (by using LEDblinky events like "FE Active" or "Game Play" but even then I don't think I can do what I need to do).  If there isn't a way around this, it's pretty much a dealbreaker for me since many games require individual rings to be turned on and off (with specific colors) while others remain unchanged from their current state.  The other option would be to convert LWAX files to LWA, but the only software I've seen to do this (by headcaze) crashes when I try to reverse convert it.

Thanks in advance for any feedback/advice!

So once again, we find that evil of the past seeps into the present like salad dressing through cheap wax paper, mixing memory and desire.
