Servo stik mounting noobie question
« on: August 04, 2014, 09:37:29 am »
So I`m in the proces of mounting the servo stik but I`m asking myself if the servo placement should be put on the left or right side or if it doesnt matter where you put it. I figure since it switches from 4 to 8 back it doesnt matter if you put the servo on top, left, right or bottom but some input is welcome

You figure right.   ;D

Mount the stick in any of the 4 primary directions as long as there is enough clearance for the servo to operate.

Awesome ! Thanks for the quick reply :D

While we are at it, I figure the spring that came with it should be installed the same way as on this page? http://www.slagcoin.com/joystick/joystick_components.html
So between the mounting plate and the microswitches ?

Are there 4 springs?  They are for the restrictor plate screws.

Well, it's actually between the joystick base and the actuator since the pivot point on the joystick base is at/below the mounting plate.

The spring will be above the microswitches, since the actuator is what presses the switches.

When you push the handle to one side, the spring compresses slightly on the opposite side.

When you release the handle, the spring de-compresses, pushing the handle back to the upright position.

There may be other spacers or washers in addition to the e-clip.  :dunno

Disclaimer: I've never worked with the ServoStik.
