You going to keep "Donkey Kong" on the sides, or change it to match the Marquee?

Where had you been ?? That's another good idea SO here is another new version and Link to fullsize on Dropbox ( https://www.dropbox.com/s/y9qxfp8dvb052j7/JacieSideart.zip )

Also has teal version or pink for the background around Jacie's Arcade text.

OK Figure we went through several versions so I'm uploading a zip with the latest versions of the sideart (both Pink and teal) the bezel and instruction card just to be sure you have the latest versions. If you need any adjustments let me know.

This latest version also has the Nintendo text changed to Jaharr to also match the Marquee that Malenko posted. Feel free to use them any way you want - and I have the .psd version saved if you would like a copy of it (if you have photoshop and would like to make adjustments) Let me know and I'll upload it also.

Here is the latest set ( https://www.dropbox.com/s/nnecij4fml3jts6/StaciesArcadeFinal.zip ) Note : It does not include Malenko's Marquee so you will need to get it also from his earlier post.

just FYI, I used the pretendo font for the nintendo logo, and the jumpman font for the JACIE'S ARCADE text

That is up to you -- mainly the sideart changed several times due to comments and things found in previous posts so depending on what you want to use just pick the version you like best (ie. if you want it to say Donkey Kong get one prior to the change to Jacie's Arcade versions) -- If you don't like some changes but do like others and can not find a version with them all the way you want post what you want and I can modify one to your liking.

I don't currently have a CP artwork but can put one together -- would need to know the dimensions needed and the layout you intend to use ( ie. one or two player - only one button or six or eight - what admin buttons on the CP  - etc.

hey Yotsuya How have you been ,I haven't heard from you in a while? Probably change the Sides. She would be more impressed with seeing her name on her own arcade.

Thanks JDfan I found one of those you did that I think i'll use.

I'll probably have to wait a while till I get started. I still got around a month to go. I'll PM you if thats ok in a couple of weeks.

thanks so much for your effort

No problem -- Once you start the build and have dimensions etc. let me know which you want to use and I'll adjust those pieces to fit your cab dimensions and we can come up with something for a CP layout to fit what you want.

Was bored again so found a CPO artwork and recolored it for this - Will need to adjust once we know the dimensions and Button layout you want but it is a start a should give you an idea of what it will look like :

you'll need to edit those items too. I cant recall what they were changed to, but I think one of them was a screw driver.

Right you are (or was that an optional addition ?) -- will have to look in game and see what they were changed to and get some screenshots of the items.

EDIT : Found an article on the Hack that had a pic of the new items (Pipe Wrench, Plunger, Wrench as gifts for Mario) when discussing the changes made - so here is an updated version with them changed (downsized PPI for forum to keep under 2MB limit)

On the original CP, you see DK, Pauline, and Jumpman. (L to R)

This makes sense with the game's original story line because:
  * DK is running away, dragging Pauline behind him.
  * Pauline is looking at Jumpman as he tries to save her.
  * Jumpman is looking at Pauline as he tries to save her.

In the new story line, Pauline is trying to save Jumpman from the clutches of DK.

To convey that story, Jumpman should be next to DK.

Has anyone considered swapping/horizontally mirroring Pauline and Jumpman on the CP?

This would match the role reversal in the game and leave DK facing left, Jumpman facing right, and Pauline facing left. (L to R)

thats super easy to do, Im sure JDFan can handle it.

I'd also suggest filling in Mario's shirt blue.

Really good points all around (also changed Large "Nintendo" text to "Jaharr" for consistency -- Here's the new Update :

So far, so good.

The one thing that still looks off is Pauline's left eyelash on both the CPO and the upper right of the bezel.

It was messed up in the original, too.

Scott
EDIT: Attached pic.  Also need to move that eye and eyebrow closer to her nose IMHO.

EDIT2: Don't forget to fix that same eye on the three full body Pauline figures on the bezel, too.

I'll look at fixing them this evening -- Not sure why they had it so messed up on the originals but it does need fixing.

EDIT : Had a few minutes before leaving so went ahead and adjusted Here's the latest :

Definitely heading in the right direction.

The composition of Pauline's face is almost there.

You may want to use a photo of someone's face at the same position and angle to tweak the positioning of Pauline's nose, lips, and left eye for better perspective and symmetry.

Also consider slightly enlarging the white in her right eye to balance her eyes.

Just noticed DK's legs are reversed relative to his upper body, too.   :o
(Look at his toes.)

Pauline also has a clipped toe and some teal overlaying her extended fingers.

How is she holding that heavy hammer with just her thumb pinching it to side of her palm?   ::)

Those were actually on the layer for the Pauline logos (leftover from the PDF import - was the AI format outline of the logos) - I didn't see it since that layer had been off while working on the DK and Mario corners. But is fixed now ! (Glad you guys are looking closely at these so the little things like that get fixed  :applaud: )

I got to get on the ball her birthday is sept 2nd. I'm sure I can get it done in a few weeks. This pinball machine is moving slow. The software takes  forever to get right. But yes yotsuya I'm gonna build an exact 2/3 scale Nintendo cabinet. Not sure of the inner workings. I may not have time to fool with software. I may have to get a card.

Scott

Thanks for all the suggestions - they really helped it look better.

@Jaharr -- I've got .psd versions of the 3 pieces and also some 300 PPI fullsize versions of the work ( The Forum here changes them to 72PPI when uploading to the forum and they have to be less than 2MB per pic ) I'll wait a day or so for any other adjustments to be noted (think they are pretty much done at this point but someone may spot something ! ) Then I'll upload 2 zip packages to my drop box and upload a link for you and others - The first will have the .psd formats with layers (so might be a fairly large download) and the second will have 300 PPI PNG format copies that are not resized by the forum.
