WICO joystick
« on: July 16, 2014, 12:34:47 pm »
I was going through my arcade box and noticed that I have a NOS Wico 4-way joystick that I had forgotten about.  I remember that I never was able to get to feel right, so I just put it away.  Now I want to try and set it up again, and couldn't find the spring or actuator that came with it.

So I ordered the parts from Arcadefixit, but noticed that I ordered the 8-way actuator by accident :banghead:

But will this matter considering, the joystick has the physical diamond-shaped restriction in the plastic anyways?

You are correct that it won't change the 4-way to an 8-way.  For what it is worth I tried an 8-way actuator in my 4-way Wico and thought it felt tighter.  I liked the feel of it much better anyway.

I sent them an email about my goof up and they were able to make the change to the 4-way in time..  great service so far!

Sounds like it really didnt matter anyways, though.

Won't matter much. The Wico 4-way didn't really ship with a lot of games that had high speed controls. Mostly stuff like Kangaroo and Dig Dug.
