New Supermodel Progress

More teaser news. Looks like is going to be a good year for emulators. First some Demul progress and now some Supermodel progress!!

Bart dusted off some Model 3 boards he had and it looks like he back to tinkering with the Supermodel emulator. He's making no promises but he did state this is how it all started.

These remaining issues are particularly difficult to figure out, otherwise they would have been solved already. That said, a fresh look after a long hiatus is often helpful and Nik and I had done some work on the 4-bit texture formats in Daytona 2 that comprise the AI car decals. Hopefully I can piece together what we found.

But, please, don't get your hopes up just yet. At this point, it's harder than ever to promise anything.

Then he posted some new pics titled "the new 3d engine"

Finally showing some signs of life. Still a long way to go but it's kind of fun playing in wireframe mode

Probably not worthy of it's own thread, but somewhat related so I'll stick it here.

Tesla's $35,000 car will be called the Model 3

Makes me want one just a little more, not that I ever spend that much on a car.
If it includes free charging for life like the expensive models and there is a charging station nearby, then I'd crack open the wallet.

Damn... they are almost affordable now aren't they?

Of course 35k is the going rate for a mid-range car these days and considering fuel would be cheaper an there would be less maintenance..... damn I might be driving an electric car in a few years!
