Internet censorship.
« on: July 14, 2014, 01:31:31 pm »
Hi. My name is nirvgorilla. I make YouTube tutorials and speak to hundreds of people per year over voice chat using programs like Skype, Mumble, Teamspeak, Ventrilo, Jitsi, and even the telephone. I talk about all sorts of topics from astronomy, biology, geology, mental health, internet censorship, and gaming/emulation. I use it to clear up ---smurf-poo--- and get people to admit they're wrong because they almost never do it in text.

What I just saw happen this morning on these forums disgusts the hell out of me. I saw bulbuousbeard correct much of the misinformation regarding the quality of Emumovies and he was insulted, so he returned fire and absolutely destroyed those who came at him with the insults. Rather than ban those who spread misinformation on forums, the mods deleted most of the comments from the thread and then locked it. This is part of what was deleted: <link removed by forum moderator>

Why are you censoring my internet? What if I want to see that information? Now nobody knows that the videos are crappy. So essentially, the mods here allow misinformation to be spread as long as you speak friendly to others. What the hell? Why isn't honesty allowed here? What's with this ---smurf-poo--- internet censorship?

Is there an emulation forum that actually allows people to be themselves and speak truthfully? If so, I'd love to hear it.

If you want to insult me as a result of my message, save it for Skype because apparently you can't say what you want on these Pixar PG-13 forums.

It's not about censorship, it's about how Saint wants to run his forums.

There is a code of conduct that should be followed as outlined in the Rules:
http://arcadecontrols.com/arcade_message_rules.html

Rules #'s 1, 4, 6, and 10 were broken.  Also note # 7 and 12.  As a result the topic was cleaned up.  The purpose of this forum is not for argument or trolling.  It's for people to research and talk about topics in a constructive way, without name calling, blah blah blah.

Again, it's the way Saint wants to run his forums.  If you cannot adhere to it, move on.  We don't need the headache. :banghead:
