Are Seimitsu buttons a good alternative to Sanwa?
« on: July 09, 2014, 10:15:42 pm »
I have a 1/2" thick control panel, which is too thick for the Sanwa screw buttons.  I was going to drill out the bottom, but I see Seimitsu makes a longer screw button.  Are they pretty comparable to Sanwa buttons?

yes, they are very similar really, just slightly flatter and less shiny finish. feel fairly close in terms of how hard you have to push them to activate the switch

I have used them and they are great.  Especially when paired with button silencers from FocusAttack.com  :applaud:

They are good buttons, but I'm not so sure they will work with 1/2" either.

I use the Seimitsu KN buttons which look to be about the same length.  They are in a 1/2" panel, but it's routed out.  I don't think I even considered trying it in the full thickness panel.  I'm pretty sure it won't work, but I'll check when I get home.

I'd contact focusattack and inquire before ordering.

IMHO Seimitsu buttons are better than Sanwa.

They will work with 1/2" unless you add plexi on top.
