Smoked Bezel Printing - how to?
« on: July 05, 2014, 11:15:30 am »
Hey all
I would love to be able to print out my own design on smoked plexiglass just like donkey kong.  Does anyone offer this service?  Anyone have experience with this?  Pros. Cons?
Love to hear some input.

MegaPrint.com says they can do Flat bed printing on most surfaces ( http://www.megaprint.com/flatbed-printing.php ) -- Not sure if they can do glass but might give them a call.

I believe the old games were done using screen printing. The pro is that is looks awesome, the con is that it requires specialist equipment / skill / time and therefore is very expensive (not worth doing for a one off custom design).

This Old Game do screen printed repros, not sure if they would do a one off.

I would also love to get this done, but will have to settle for a vinyl print stuck onto the glass.

Thanks guys.
I'm still trying to figure out the best way to do this as a printed vinyl would be easiest but that company says they can print on plexi.  I'll post again when I find out more.

You can check if you have a local t-shirt company or custom design place with screening equipment. Some of those places often do things like designs on ceramic and metal. They might have no problem screening on a sheet of glass you bring in.
