OND Cabinet Showcase
« on: June 27, 2014, 10:31:17 pm »
The idea of having a separate thread dedicated to the various OND cabinets was mentioned in the original thread....so I finally decided to kick it off.
The idea will be to capture finished pictures along with links to the build threads (instead of making this a build thread itself).

I'm currently working on 2 more, with a pretty good possibility of having several more requests, so I'll post pics once those are done. Here's my original cab. CP was actually a SlickStick I had for a few years.

Nice idea fellas, thanks for kicking this off brihyn and better in it's own thread rather than mixed in with the Metropolis build thread (easier to browse).  I've taken the liberty (hope that's OK  :-\) to show off the great work of some  BYOAC members based on the design in roughly the order of (known) completion thus far.  Apologies if I've missed anybody (easily remedied with an edit  :) )

Just about to deliver OND cabinet #2. Pictures were taken before doing some paint touch up and wiping off all of my dusty fingerprints. Cabinet #3 is getting some custom artwork painted this weekend, and will be ready for a charity auction by mid-week. Pics of that will be coming.

I just received my second cabinet back from a coworker's house (third OND cabinet for me, second of a pair that I made this summer)...she did a custom paintjob on the sides and it looks awesome.

In 2-3 weeks this one will head to work for a charity auction to raise money for Foodbank of the Heartland.

Great work brihyn!  The lady's custom paint job is very nice, please pass my compliments on to her. The fact that you've built this for a good cause has made my day.

Good onya mate!

OND, just wanted to let ya know that your fine cabinet plans and walkthroughs just earned the Foodbank of the Heartlands a nice $1100.  We just had an auction of all of the items the various teams here donated...a really good friend of mine ended up being the high bidder.
Was hoping to see it go for more, but that'll still help a lot of hungry Midwesterners.
So a heartfelt thanks for everything you provided to make this cabinet such a joy to build!

OND - you couldn't pull the pics of mine could you until it's finished? It's looking really shabby without the artwork

It's not shabby at all mate, but I have removed your WIP pics.  I look forward to seeing your cab finished with its customised features and back in the list!

Wait....there's actually a way to truly finish this cab? I thought that there was just a never ending line of desires and dreams for changes with this (like, I assume, every other cabinet)

Any chance anyone would want to share the template they used for canvasing the sides of this, as well as printing costs? One of my cabinet buyers is interested in side art...luckily they have more graphic skill than I do.

brihyn was instrumental in the building of this cabinet so I thought I would take him up on the idea to share a few pictures of the finished product. This cabinet was a built by my 17 year old son for a project in his woods class at school. There is a lot of dust on it in these pictures because it was in the woods shop so I will post some cleaned up pictures some time also. There were probably a few projects with better workmanship in his class but if there was a popular project award he would have won.  ;D
