Touch screen games ALA McDonalds?
« on: June 19, 2014, 10:31:13 am »
Just picked up a nice 15" touch screen monitor at the Lincoln, NE Goodwill Goodbytes store for a whopping 20$. Works great. I think i'm going to replace out the monitor in my antique record player juke, and use the older touch screen for some other project.
Wife last night suggested a bartop touch screen with the games like McDonalds has in some of their restaraunts. Anyone know if those games (or anything similar) are available? I love the football passing game, she loves the trivia games....

Touchmaster 8000 is about as modern as it gets in MAME, but it still looks pretty dated.
Fire it up and check it out.

A few people have built bartops and ran Popcap games on them.  Fairly often you can find them at discount stores (Big Lots, Ollies, etc)
I'm not sure if you can away completely without needing a keyboard (gonna at least need an exit button).

those touchscreen games in mcd's are actually a "kid friendly" mode of the merit megatouch machines (at least round here they are) called "Kid's Club" and is enabled through the system settings. This also disables nudity.
