Zero Delay Extra wires
« on: June 16, 2014, 07:17:50 pm »
Hello all - quick (and possibly silly) question. I have some Zero Delay encoders that didn't come with enough wiring for all of the buttons/positions I need. Is there a cheap/easy way to order additional wiring? I tried searching eBay, but either my search keywords are wrong, or people just don't sell the wiring with all the ends preset with the necessary connectors.

I did see plain wiring sold with just the quick disconnect ends loose, so you could make your own wires for buttons/joysticks. These don't come with the connectors needed for the zero delay board though. Would I have to purchase a wire + QD kit, then buy the small zero delay connectors and pins separately?

Thanks in advance for tips/advice!

Vigo's old thread from when he sold them shows this link ( http://www.pololu.com/product/1164/ ) to a source with the connectors for the board @$0.75 per wire then you'd just need the 0.187 quick disconnects for the button end.

Cool, thanks. Pre-connected like that would save some time and effort, and quick disconnects are easy enough to pickup locally.

I actually just emailed the seller that I bought my ZD encoder from and he said he could sell me as many wires as I want separately (no reply on length yet, waiting to hear if he'll make them longer). Since the encoder + wires was only $10 free shipping, I'm hoping he'll sell me a bundle of wires for a couple of bucks. I might have to wait 2 weeks, but I'm in no rush and it would be zero effort if he'll send me premade wires. If it works out, I'll post a link to the seller for future cabinet builders as a reference.
