Ipac problem in mame and mamewah
« on: December 06, 2003, 10:36:54 pm »
I am sorry for asking so many questions lately but i cant seem to find an old thread with this problem addresses.  Wired everything up. Have the Ipac hooked up.  Running win XP by the way.  I can get into the test made (ctrl alt and p) as per ultimarc instructions.  THis is in Mame mode.  Anyway as I push and test each button and control it comes up  on the screen that the inputs are correct (i.e. i push up on player one joystic it shows platyer 1 up etc.)  However when I try to use the controls in mamewah it does crazy things like pushing up on any joystck it loads a game.  Some buttons will bring up the emulator settings window.  So i tried to just load mame from a command prompt.  Loads fine but buttons and joysticks dont respond correctly.

What am i missing.  I assume because in test mode with the ipac4 i am getting the right responses on the screen with each button and joystick move my wiring is correct.  And the computer must know the ipac is there and lets  my keyboard function through the passthrough.  So is there a ini setting in mamewah or mame i need to edit.  I see in one of the mamewah menus there is an entry for winipac location.  What is this for?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  I am this close to playing these games on real controls after all this work (and help from everyone here) and it is making me crazy . Or more crazy as it were...

Ideas anyone??

Thanks again

I was curious if you checked your wiring and made sure you are not using any of the NC tabs on the microswitches?
