Any Touch Jam Users?
« on: May 19, 2014, 07:55:51 pm »
Hi all, checking to see if any of you guys are using Touch Jams as your front end? I am new with it and had a couple of questions before I email the author.  First of all is there a way to have it start in Album view mode? Right now it starts in list mode for me.

Also, do any of you use a certain screen saver? If you do what do you use? I see it has the option to play a video file as your screen saver. Was curious about what kind of video or file you use.

Also, in case the owner of this great site is reading this. The author of touch jams does not have forum support so the users can come together to compare notes. Any chance we could create a sub group here? I am sure a lot of work goes into running a site like this but you would benefit from the page views etc......

Shipping something from the U.S. to Canada for repair/exchange?  Please use USPS to avoid (additional?/excessive?) shipping charges.  PM me if you have any questions.

Bob, the guy behind Touch Jams posts on this site.
He is awesome ! He is always making tweaks.
I did not like the 2 click to play a tune option, so he did a one click play ! ( I LOVE IT!)
Click the tune, it goes in the que.

For me (I designed my own skin....available on the site) the program stats in album mode.
I've never thought to use the screen saver, but I'll look into the option for videos.
I have so few videos, but I like that option.

I just built a Windows 8.1 mini ITX based Juke box using TouchJams and an old 3/4 size Wurlitzer style CD/radio juke box, my wife always wanted an mp3 juke box but wanted to be able to see album covers etc so I got the Jukebox cheap off Gumtree as it needed some work, many of the bulbs had blown and the tape player had died, so I sorted it out and tapped into the amplifier circuit to add an external 3.5 inch jack plug socket for input and also a rotary 3 pole switch to select the internal cd player or external computer input. the 800x600 touch screen monitor is  mounted to the wall above the Jukebox
The wife didn't want me changing the Jukebox itself so I am going to eventually add the small computer box to an external stand/box underneath, it is silent and runs cold, no fan cooling even though it is running a dual 2.4ghz  Celeron processor.
She is so proud of it and Me  ;D she shows it off to everyone who comes round, everyone seems to like it.

Hey if you can't get a sub-forum going for TouchJams let me know and I will see about starting an "Official" TouchJams forum.  I tried this in the past a couple of times but was defeated by all the spammers.  That was a couple of years ago, maybe the spam filters have become better by now.  Anyway, let me know either on here or email me at support@touchjams.com
