I dropped out of the scene (damn my work, damn it, damn it!) to deal with work issues....and I realized I still have to hook up my dual spinner joysticks so I can play Ikari, etc.
Question: Did I read not to long ago that dual-axis support is now available on OS's OTHER than 98?? I run 2000 Pro, mostly because I HAVE IT...and don't have XP.
My CAB is still win98.....but how far away from a simple menu item do you think we are from a standard MAME32 build just offering dual-axis spinners without alot of fuss...??
Win2000 (& winNT) doesn't do dual mice, but if you use MameAnalog+, the mice axis can be split so that X is player1 and Y is player2.
Win98 & winME, OTOH, & analog+ does have multiple
USB mice support. If spinner 1 is the first USB mouse and spinner 2 is the second USB mouse, just enable mice and it will work.
WinXP does have multiple mice support if you use the XP build of analog+. I'm not sure about how winXP numbers these mice, though.
If you have the spinners on the X & Y axes of the same mouse, analog+ also has the -splitmouseaxes option that
might correctly set up for you. You might need to use the -singlemouse and/or -switchmiceaxes options also.
Note that Analog+ currently has a bug and doesn't save the mouse remap setting, ATM.

If you don't use -switchmiceaxes or -switchablemice options, then it won't effect you, other wise you'd need to setup the mice each time you start mameAnalog+. (0.74.2 was the last version to save the settings)
Other options:
NoNameMame has Analog+ code. I haven't used it, though, so not sure how much. It has a lot of other features, too, so you might want to check it out.
AdvanceMame can change mouse axis for dos, windows & linux. It also has multiple mice, but this is only in linux. (maybe dos has dual)
DosMame can do two mice.
Oh, and how's everyone doing!?!?!
Good to see you again. Drop by more often.
