If you can rig the 32" to rotate, then definitely add the flipper buttons.  If not, I wouldn't worry about it too much, unless you like playing pin games which follow the course of the ball on the table (not my preference).  A full table on a 32" WS in horizontal mode, probably won't be too exciting.  Then again, they don't cost much and will be there if you want them, so...

Meh, Just Do It ;D

Search for my posts containing the word "MagnaSave".

They cover the overlap between MAME and VP/FP controls and a few simple wiring tricks to combine default MagnaSave and Upper Flipper controls into one flipper button while keeping the related MAME buttons separate.

For the flipper buttons, Goldleafs are way better than microswitch buttons, and leaf-switch buttons like the GGG ClassX True-Leaf Pro are probably better than Goldleafs. (haven't tried them yet, but the reviews look promising)

Another thing to consider is nudging - digital (L/R/Up) or analog.

I did pinball buttons on my first cab.  It was fun to play the "desktop" versions of virtual pinball and future pinball tables.

But the front end can be a total pain in rear.....

Just get a real pinball machine.  :)   (once I did, I forgot all about pinball emulation....)

Hmm, but whats stopping me from throwing in 4 extra buttons and wiring them to my Lono2 with the rest of the controls? I guess i didn't take tilt options into consideration.

Nothing's stopping you.   ;D

Just making sure you ask and answer the relevant questions before you drill/paint/wire everything up and find yourself wondering how to avoid some of the inevitable SDTM (Straight Down The Middle) balls and silently weeping that you didn't remember to include a Ball Launch/Plunger button.   :'(

Be sure that you build a mockup to test the angles and ergonomic comfort of your desired button positions.
