Seimitsu LS-32 mounting - top or bottom?
« on: May 01, 2014, 12:04:04 pm »
How have people mounted their LS-32s? Top with flat plate or bottom with S-plate? Or other?

Have ordered some S-plates but a bit concerned that in order to mount them underneath I will either have to have a very thin top section of control panel to allow for enough of the shaft to poke through or use shaft extenders (at which point the throw of the sticks change, I assume).

Aware it's a preference thing but thought I'd weigh up some opinions of people who have them before I commit to anything!

There are six mounting methods shown here in the FAQ.

The "under mount (support blocks)" method is a great choice.

The "top mount (recessed)" pic shows a method that works well, but isn't easy to swap sticks.

Don't under mount a Japanese stick on a wood panel. It'll be too short, most are made for metal panels. Just route down the top of the panel to get the correct height for the stick.
