  • I want to build my own arcade controls!
trying to get a measurement for how far back from the steering wheel at the front of the cab to the back of the pedals.  The white line on my photo is the messurement I am trying to get.

Thanks for any help.

Are you asking how far back to put your pedals, or how measure the distance from your pedals?

If you are wanting something that fits you, the best way to do it is to get in your real car, adjust things how you like them and get out the measuring tape.  Otherwise just put your kit in front of the couch and start moving things around until they feel right.

i got 4 nintendo cabs off a guy for 300$ total i ended up selling some parts that i didn't need for my playchoice 10 that i put in one and my vs mario bros that i put in the other. I basically ended up getting the cabinets for free so with the 2 extra ones my plan is to put a wii with a mario kart wii game, Thrustmaster Ferrari Challenge Racing Wheel and peadls, and the cheapest xrocker gaming chair from walmart.  To make a wii mario kart driving game.  Right now I am looking at the Cab Design picture from:

Just trying to figure out how far back the pedals are from the front of the arcade machine.

Thanks!

Howard's answer to your question is about as good as you're going to get...

A pedal distance also depends on seat height and steering wheel height/seat angle... for example, on a stand up cab the pedals are directly below the steering wheel... the closer your seat is to the floor the further away the pedals need to be.

If you haven't placed your seat yet you should do that first... then just put the pedals wherever they're comfortable based on your seat location.

I don't have a saw my plan was to draw up everything then go to lowe's and have them cut everything on site.  Also I am trying to make more than one so I can network the Wii's together to play with more than one person.  I am 6ft3in tall so thats why I was hoping there was some general info to use.

Thanks!
