Standup Daytona
« on: March 13, 2014, 04:57:55 pm »
Hi all, not sure if I showed off the stand up Daytona I built a month back. I used an old Crusin USA cab and 26inch CRT as a base to start with, added a modified Daytona dash, Logitech driving force GT, vga to crt converter, Logitech speakers and amp/sub, dual core intel exlease PC and hyperspin front end. 4 speed shifter connected via a joypad hack. Sorry no build pics. Artwork made in photoshop.

I like it a lot! Only 1 view change button?

Its actually very similar to what I had envisioned when I made Checkered Past

yep these wheels are close to a G25 in my opinion.

No side art. I made it to sell so have to watch how much I invest into the build :)

Yes it only came with 1 view button, I used the H2seq.exe to get that working. Maybe from a sega rally?

Whats Chequered Past?

Cool, I missed that post. I like how you jammed the screen in, it looks almost bezel-less. Glad you changed the wheel to a Logitech. IMO you need to get an original arcade pedal box as the plastic fantastic just doesn't cut it, or make a metal plate and stick the plastic pedals in it :)

Cheers

agreed. I had too high of hopes using the Pole Position cab. Its been dismantled and disposed of, next racing cab is going to be a converted sit down if ever.  SOrry about the thread jack lol, but you did a great job!

There can't be that many driving cabs where you live.
Pretty soon there will be more of yours than original ones.  :P

Post a pic. I usually take the wheel off and mount the Logitech assembly from the front by drilling holes and gluing the nuts from the back, then remounting the wheel. Sometimes the wheel sits to close to the dash so I make a aluminium extension as the logitechs have heaps of length on the wiring loom :)
