Not exactly in Detroit though...

It's worth the hour and half drive for $2.

I'd drive 12 hours for that cabinet at 2.00.

I doubt it.

Add that up. $75 each way in gas (if you get good gas mileage), night in a hotel $50 (cheap hotel), fast food meals $30 (at least), and 2 LONG days of driving.

That doesn't even acount for the cost of putting that many miles on your vehicle or if you have to rent something to move it.

You must be old and rich!!!!

You get a buddy.  Have wifey make a few sandwhiches, misc. snacks, and collect a few beverages to place in cooler.  Spend night before filling CD case with traveling music.  Drive straight through.  Time it right so that you pick the cab up at 8:00 am (or pray that since you drove too fast that the guy isn't upset that you are calling at 5:00) and turn around and drive straight home.

You'll be so adrenalized that by the time you get home you will start working on the cab despite not having sleep in the last 30 hours.

I know.  This is how I got my Sega Astro City.  And with gas, food, and oil change -- I still saved about $100.00 on shipping.  Oh and my buddy and I have a road trip that we will talk about during half times at football games for many years.

I got an Asteroids Deluxe cab from this guy the other day.  I was thinking of driving out on Saturday.  If someone else from the Detroit Area is wanting (needing) this cabinet I am in the Royal Oak area and could help a 'fella out.  I have a 8' bed in my pickup so room is not an issue.

I bid it up to $5.
I only live about 1/2 hour away fom this guy (in Fremont, OH).
I don't really havea use for the cab right now, though.  Maybe I'll push it a littler higher.  I could always store it in the basement for that price.

Jedi, is that the guy who owns the warehouse you went to?  Is he selling it all off?

No this is a different guy.  The guys from Kalamazoo post on rec.games.video.arcade.marketplace as Kirb.  I am keeping an eye on the group and I asked Kirb to email me the next time they have a get together.  He said it probably will not be until spring.  I will post it here if I find out anymore information.

Quick note..

I was watching a cocktail table and was planning on bidding.  6 hours left a it was at 20 bucks.  Well he pulled the auction...

He did say he had a good reason...  That verified later.  He got a part and got it working...  But I bet he was able to do it from the git-go... And just wanted to see if he could make enought on it to make it not worth his trouble..

But I woudl have loved getting that auction./

I bid on another cab he had up and he pulled that auction, too.
That seems a little shady.  Either you want to sell it on e-bay, or you don't.

I agree. It really burns me up when a seller pulls an auction at the last minute.

That really is what the reserve is for.

If you wont take less then 100 bucks... then set that reserve... Don't get mad when its at 20 a day before close.

plus... going up a few hundred in a few minutes before the end is normal.
