Not-Angling Joysticks Saved My MAME
« on: January 31, 2014, 11:25:16 pm »
After spending a month with my mame pedestal from Dream Home Arcades, I have to take my hat off again to this forum for convincing me to not angle the player 3 and player 4 joysticks.  So many games that I love to play would have been unplayable with the angled sticks.  With games like TMNT, X-Men, you could get away with the angled sticks.  It wouldn't be ideal, but you could get away with it.   But throw in games like SMASH TV, Title Fight, Karate Champ, and it's no go.

Also, mame is great for games like Mario Kart 64.  The game just looks stunning on my set up...almost has an HD look to it, much better than it ever looked back in the day.  And Mario Kart is best played with 4 people, and believe it or not, the 6-button fighting stick layout works really well for Mario Kart.  But if you angled your sticks, players 3-4 would be screwed.  You need to have the stick up be the up on the screen.

So yeah, if you are going 4-player, make sure up=up all the way around.  It's the only way to go. Thanks guys.

If I had only one wish, it would be for three more wishes.

 Jealous much?

Hes saying thanks, and hes happy with the CP.   Good for him.

How about you just go and do something productive, like busting some internet surfers at work?
