Holy cow, this might be my chance to finally help someone a little. (my first opportunity)
I recently installed some t-molding. I found that using a rubber mallet worked best for seating the molding, if you dont have a rubber or leather mallet laying around like I did, holding a small chunk of wood agaist the molding and hitting it with the hammer will do the trick.
for notching, rather than buy the expensive tool, I used something that I already have, and likely you do too, a pair of wire cutters (or sidecutters if you call them that, or dikes if you call them that or is is dykes?) Anyway, as you begin the curve towards the tall part of the T cut out a couple of tiny triangle shaped notches so that the molding can easily follow the curve without binding. for curves that bend away from the tall part of the T, notches are not necessary.
Im sure this is in a faq someplace, but I couldnt find it the first time I tried to look for it, so I thought Id share some of the experience I had. Good luck!
