SpinTrak / mouse stops working
« on: January 29, 2014, 01:36:44 pm »
I have installed a SpinTrak with USB interface, alongside a wireless Logitech mouse.

I have a problem: Every now and then, at seemingly random times, either the mouse or the SpinTrak just stops responding. It's always either the SpinTrak OR the mouse, not both.

Unplugging the device and plugging it back in brings it back, as does rebooting.

Disabling and enabling the device in device manager does not bring it back. (A third mouse device also shows up, have no clue what that one is.)

Any ideas on what this could be and how to deal with it?

For now I've disabled both the regular mouse and the third mouse, so that only the SpinTrak is enabled. This way everything seems to work fine, but I don't think it's supposed to be like this.

Edit: Using Windows 7 64-bits.

Get rid of your wireless mouse if it is not too great a hassle.   If the mouse is used on your cab use a wired one.

That would most likely solve the issue, but is this a common problem? If so, I'll just have to deal with it by unplugging the mouse when I'm not using it.

I need a mouse for making system adjustments now and then, and it's convenient to have a wireless keyboard and mouse lying around for this.
