DK joystick replace, or repair?
« on: January 24, 2014, 02:02:04 pm »
I've got a DK machine. The small swivel bearing inside the joystick has quite a bit of rust on it, causing the joystick to not spring back to center, and to be hard to move in any direction.

I took it apart, cleaned the joystick shaft, sprayed some WD40 on the bearing, and that brought it back to about 80% of perfect.

Now I'm considering just repalcing the joystick altogether.

Any suggestions? I'd like to keep it as stock as possible, so I'd like to stick with an exact replacement using the existing leaf switches.

Try Mike's Arcade.  He stocks a number of parts to repair a DK joystick.

Look for a populated vs control panel and use the base from player 2 and transfer parts over.

Don't use wd40 anymore. In the future use a can of brake cleaner on that bushing/base and when dry use a teflon based lube.

Mike's isn't what it used to be. I think we can stop doing the "try mikesarcade" posts.

good day.

I've bought twice from Mike's in the past five months and been pleased. What were you looking for?
