WTB: Spirit of '76
« on: January 13, 2014, 07:35:51 pm »
I'm looking for a Spirit of '76 pinball.  My stepfather was one of the engineers that developed the machine back in the day.  He's now getting on in age (and health) and I'd love to have one of these machines in the game room to show him.  Condition does not matter, I'm willing to refurb.

That is cool he worked at that EM pin.  :applaud:
That seems to be a sought after pin for many reasons. Try here, it is refurbed already, if time is not on your side.  I am sure he would be super happy to play one. :)

But I have this pin in VP & it is a great EM table, it's not on regular VPF site. It was done awhile ago but looks Great. Next best thing, if you cant hunt one up. cheers

If anyone wants a Future Pinball version, you can get v5.0 from 2009 here or the 2013 Ultra version here.

Russ Snyder is the owner of Pin Rescue and is just a great, great, guy.  Probably one of the best when it comes to restores of EM's.  Definitely contact him as the bulk of his stuff doesn't even get listed on his site.  I have two machines from Russ...El Dorado, and Klondike.    Last time I was in his shop he had two Spirit of 76's.

Holy crap, had no idea they were going for that much...  Um.  Hmm.  Might need to back burner this one for a bit.  Thanks for the links guys.

I know nothing about the pinball scene and wasn't expecting this one to be anything special.  That makes it even cooler - but definitely on the "someday" list.

I sold a pioneer last fall for $700. It was really nice and I still know where it is. I don't know if they want to sell it, but they might.

It's a simple thing, PBJ.  As much as I want one of these for myself and my father-in-law, I simply don't have that kind of cash.  So, the concept gets shelved until I've got that much saved up.

There is one listed for sale for $975 in Illinois.  Shipping would probably cost you $400.
