Super Hang-On & Analog Controls
« on: January 04, 2014, 07:34:38 pm »
As your all aware Mame is setup to use analog sticks and triggers from default for pads like the Xbox 360 pad, so in racing games you can use the sticks for analog control and also for the gas and brake. When using a 360 pad for Super Hang-On, the pad seems to act as normal but i have noticed sometime it will stop accelerating and the speed will drop to like 90kph and stay there until i release the right trigger (gas) and then reapply it again. Any ideas whys this happens?

Make sure nothing is mapped to PEDAL INC OR PEDAL DEC.
Those aren't for analog controls, those are for when buttons are substituted for analog controls.
A lot of times when sorting these things out, it helps to not map the brake and just get the accelerator working correctly first.

You may also have to calibrate the controls in the game's service menu.

I've also had issues with unofficial MAME builds where the rapid fire option prevents things from working properly.
